There are several dining choices on Anegada vacations, the Anegada Beach Club, Neptune's Treasure, or Pimato Point, all of which appreciate reservations being made, and they stand by VHF radio channel 16. Likewise there are several beach bars that serve lunches on the North Shore too, at Big Bamboo and Flash of Beauty on Loblolly Bay and Cow Wreck Bar and Restaurant on Cow Wreck Bay. |

Anegada vacations are notorious for miles of white sand beaches and the 18-mile-long Horseshoe Reef, the largest barrier coral reef in the Caribbean, and the third largest on earth. The reef makes navigation to Anegada difficult. While charter boats freely sail among most of the other Virgin Islands, charter companies often forbid clients to sail to Anegada to avoid running aground on the reef. The reef has claimed hundreds of shipwrecks, including the HMS Astrea (1808), the Donna Paula (1819), the MS Rocus (1929) As such, Anegada vacations offer some impressive scuba diving locations. |

Anegada, an island 10 miles long by 2 1/2 miles wide with extensive salt ponds, reaches its highest point at 28 feet, hence its name which means the "drowned land." Of coral reef origins, Anegada vacations offer sixteen miles of sandy beaches with a primeval quality. On the East End of Anegada, large piles of conch shells, some even forming islands, attest to the presence of aboriginal people. Later, pirates hid in the maze of reefs, with legends of pirate treasure. |
