If you're taking a day trip from Tortola, make sure you call Tony's Taxi (tel. 284/495-8027) ahead of time; Tony Smith will take you across the island to the bay, with one quick stop to see the legendary pink flamingos on the way. Once you pull up at Loblolly Bay, stake out a place on the beach and enjoy some of the most spectacular snorkeling in the B.V.I. Break for lunch at Big Bamboo, and have a drink at the small thatched-roof bar where scrawled signatures on the bar and roof supports are from Cindy Crawford, Brooke Shields, and Andre Agassi (the bartender swears they're real). |
